Our ancestors, our loved ones, the people who shaped us and gave us traditions that give our family unit life. They remind us in the things we keep sake and have around us as we live that they are always near and a part of us in many ways.
It is especially so at Christmas, when we carry on the passing down of foods to eat, ritual, gatherings, gift exchanges and the additional revelry we have to help us make it through the gray days of winter with out going mad or staying in bed all day.
The above items all were made by Gregg’s grandma, Nanny. We are lucky to have gotten so many fun things that she had made by hand.
I totally love the bead candles and the crotchet Santas. And I was extra excited to get the beautiful needle point ginger bread house.
These are things that are Must Be Displayed items. It cannot be Christmas if they do not appear in the house.
The magic of Christmas is made in the love that carries on long after each moment.
How many of you have such items?
What are they?
Enjoy the last week of Christmas.
Much love to all and thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I need them and appreciate them.
