Yesterday I had one of the best days I have ever had in my whole life. Sounds like a strong statement, but it is true. This is a two part post, and I am posting the second half of the day first. My two best friends and I took a road trip to one of the most beautiful places in Indiana. Parke County has such breathtaking landscape a person could spend a week and not scratch the surface of all there is to see and do.
Our main mission was to go get hands on experience at gathering maple sap to be boiled down to maple syrup. That was the first half of the day.
The second half was equally as magical and wonderful. We hiked through the Foxworthy’s Hemlock Grove to a high cliff over Sugar Creek. The land his family has been privileged to own for generations boarders Turkey Run State Park. It was very steep. The hemlocks were so beautiful with them being the only deep green things in an almost spring forest. The other thing that was growing were the ferns and moss. They were glowing with life. The tress are budding. They look to be ready to burst at any moment. I am sure this warm week will help them along. We were sent with the task of finding the cabin that Kevin building and the ravine that would take our breath away. We found that and a LOT more. Here is the picture tour.
