2014 Indiana Flower and Patio Show 56th Annual

What a winter we have had here in my beloved Indiana. It has been one of the coldest and snowiest ever on record. We are expecting a snow storm tonight even.

So imagine how lucky and wonderful you would feel if you were putting on an annual tradition of a flower and patio show AND the weather opening weekend was the warmest it had been since last fall! You hit the jackpot!

My husband and I have a booth at the Christmas Gift and Hobby show which is produced by thte same people that do this show. They always try to get us to set up a booth at the Patio Show. We have not ever taken the leap to do it because it is ten days, it is twice the booth rent and there is more vacation time I have to allot in a major chuck for an unknown and big risk.

We decided to go scope out the show and see if we thought it could be worth trying.

It was really fun. We went early, got there about 10 minutes after it  opened at 10:00 a.m. By noon, you could not stir the people with a stick.

Here is the “gotta have it” Amber pictorial review:

Looked pretty authentic. Not sure if I would want to ride on those wheels! Sooner wagon (the sign said).

convert a shipping container into a living space or even portable party area. Wonder how hot and cold they get?

These are so awesome. And I think they will come and convert an existing stone you might already have.

This looks like a tranquil spot.

This is a cool brew house with growlers and tap handles for a water feature. Love it!

This garden was cool with several instruments made into a band throughout the garden. This reminds me of the Flintstones!

This looks neat, but the TV was too hot to touch, so not a good idea, even from that distance. The flames look really cool, like little candle flames.

Local Business owner and Indiana native Bob Dapper at the show on opening day. Nice to see an owner be involved with the customer.

One of the older buildings on the fair grounds we passed as we walked out. I love shooting old structures. Lots to look at!

My only purchase was local honey with the comb still in it. Yummy!
